A medical device(s) is key to the care and management of patients in healthcare setting and have the potential of providing life-saving and/or life-enhancing treatments of patients for medical/surgical as well as critically ill. The purpose of educating nurses on these medical devices is to enhance their critical care skills as well as reinforce their understanding of the use of medical technological devices  in critical care/ICU setting to promote/enhance life and improve patient outcome. The focus will be mainly on those medical equipment or devices used in critical care environment. It is quite obvious now that healthcare professionals cannot do it alone without the use of innovative approaches such as using medical devices in the care and management of critically ill patients. Indications, contraindications, alarm management , set-up, and troubleshooting strategies, evidence-based patient management with each device, and more will be discussed.
